“ My first try at this restaurant and it was very good. Asian inspired street food in a fun Eclectic space. Service was fantastic. Had the Korean fried chicken and it was spicy, although I would've liked it a bit spicier. It was flavorful and double fried.The lumpia was just okay, we also had the ant climbing a tree noodle stir fry, the seasoning was great and flavors were on point. The drinks were also great. Lovely spot for a date. It's loud but reminded me of hawker/ street markets in Asia. The mochi waffle dessert was great. Pair the ice cream with the chilli crisp! A surprising flavor combo, it highlights the almost floral undertones in the chili pepper. They have a seasonal menu rotation so definitely will be back ! ”
“ My husband and I shared: - Bangkok Balls - Galam Plee Pad Nam Pla (Thai Cabbage) - Ma Yi Shang Shu (Ants Climbing a Tree) - Tom Yum Noodle - Hawaiian Butter Mochi Cake - Xi Duo Shi (Hong Kong French Toast) - Ube Horchata My favorite things were the Tom Yum Noodles, the Hong Kong French Toast, and the Thai Cabbage. The Tom Yum Noodles are such a fun take on what is usually a soup. The only thing I was disappointed by was the butter mochi cake. This is one of my favorite Hawaiian desserts, but this one seemed to be lacking butter. I'd love to come back and try the rest of the menu because everything looked delicious. ”
“ The corndog was very crunchy and surprisingly very filling. I expected it to be a bit sweeter like an american corndog is but it was more savory with a light sweetness. This was my first time ever having tom yum noodles and I enjoyed them. There were plenty of pieces of lobster and mushroom which I was happy about. The serving sizes are generous, I ended up saving half for the next day. Ordered takeout so can't speak to the ambiance of the restaurant. ”
“ Unbelievable experience, every time we go. Incredibly rich flavored sauces, spicy beyond any reasonable white person's palate, and adventurous seasonal menus that make you want to try everything on there. It's no wonder they got a Bib Gourmand, one of the best spots in Denver without a doubt ”
“ One of my neighborhood spots for a casual dinner or takeout. Some of the standouts to me are the cumin lamb ribs, Beijing dumplings, and Hong Kong cornflake French toast, but I haven't had a bad thing here. Beware that if the item is listed as spicy, there's definitely a kick! Staff is always super friendly. The space is small though so it can fill up on weekends. ”
“ Love, love, love thus place's happy hour! We head here often when looking for a good meal at a reasonable price! Service: a host seats you and gives you a table number. You then order at the counter and someone brings your food out to you. Food: This place makes food with big flavors! I'm a huge fan of the fried chicken and the garlic noodles! Ambiance: very laid back and casual. ”
“ Too Pig to Fail Brainchild of Chef Natascha Hess, who's family heritage couldn't be further from China, but after spending three summer's living abroad with a Chinese family, quickly fell in love with the food, culture, and flavors of the region. And thus, the Ginger Pig was born. Chef Hess has managed to parlay her fantastic cooking into multiple TV appearances (Chopped S54E5 & Beat Bobby Flay S31:E2), as well as recently earning multiple Michelin Bib Gourmand awards, which is given to "...restaurants that our inspectors consider to be the best value for money within our selection." The Good: *Friendly service *Order at the counter and they bring out your meal to you, but no worries they actually pace out the food beautifully. *Beijing Dumplings were unreal and packed with tons of flavor. *Great bar program and local brews on-on-tap *Seems like a silly thing, but their pickled cucumbers were quite tasty. I'd buy a few jars of that to take home. *Chinese BBQ Pork Shoulder (aka Char Siu) was mind-blowingly fantastic. Tender, with a nice crisp exterior and a great char to go with the sweet-heat glaze. 10 out of 10 would definitely order again. *And speaking of mind-blowing, the Hong Kong French Toast was also amazing. The crispy exterior and soft custardy middle was heaven on a plate. Another 10 out of 10--SAVE ROOM AND GET THIS!! The Meh: *Interior is very cramped and there is some tables where you might have to share space with strangers, if that's your bag, baby. *Recently opened new location in Boulder is take-out only. *Wasn't really a fan of the Auntie Zhang's Chinese Noodles, as the glass noodles seemed kinda undercooked and the sauce just seemed to be missing something. Don't get me wrong, it was ai'ight, but just nothing I'd order again. The Ugly: *Parking is a bit of a shit-show as their parking lot holds maybe a half-dozen (properly parked) vehicles, and the street parking is a bit hit-or-miss. Conclusion: We only had time for two meals in our short one-day stay in Denver and Ginger Pig was a fabulous decision. Highly recommended. ”
